Bio
In the woods of Gualala, California, at a folk music camp, in the dining hall, at a long table sipping cups of koolade, is where Annie and Phil met. Annie noticed the multicolor stains, fresh from a tye dye session, on Phil's hands. From there they struck up a conversation and found they shared not only a love for folk music, but also for the psychedelic rock and San Francisco sounds of the '60's. It is from these shared influences that the Hobbyhorse sound, fresh and original, was born. Hobbyhorse's music is in the spirit of experimentation and the expansion of the imagination. They take psychedelic folk/rock into the present day with their poetic songwriting and adventurous arrangements.
As well as being a musical duo, Hobbyhorse hosts an online music and art venue called Hobbyhorse Café. Hobbyhorse Café features Hobbyhorse music and art and a continuing lineup of talented guest musicians, artists and poets.
